1974 Modernist Home | Retro Double Brick Shoot Location | Melbourne, VIC

Set on a generous 1025sqm block alongside Sweet Water Creek, this 1974 Modernist Double Brick Beauty is a perfectly preserved time capsule of Australian architectural history. With its angular lines, pitched cedar ceilings, and retro interiors untouched by renovation, this home offers an authentic, film-ready backdrop ideal for photo shoots, cinematic productions, and creative workshops.

Architecturally designed and masterfully built, the split-level floor plan captures the spirit of 70s modernism. The interiors are rich with texture: exposed brick, cedar wood panelling, green flora-patterned wallpaper, and earth-toned tiled bathrooms form a palette that’s both nostalgic and visually bold. Large angular windows frame the natural surroundings and invite in soft, shifting light throughout the day, while vintage chandeliers and original fixtures offer endless vignettes for stylists and directors.

With four bedrooms, two bathrooms, and two distinct living zones, the layout supports multiple configurations—from fashion and editorial shoots to long-form filming or immersive brand activations. The lower-level master suite offers seclusion and intimacy, ideal for portraiture or more contemplative scenes, while the expansive open-plan lounge and dining areas are made for stylised movement and storytelling.

Outdoors, the vibe continues with a lush backyard, original hills hoist, and a hidden courtyard surrounded by native plantings and abundant bird life—enhancing the home’s unmistakable Australiana feel. Whether you’re styling a 70s fashion campaign, shooting a short film, or curating a retro-inspired creative session, this location offers a cohesive and richly detailed canvas from every angle.

Located in Melbourne, VIC, this architectural gem combines timeless design with true production versatility. It's not just a space—it's a scene waiting to be captured.
