Contemporary Cottage with Courtyard & Skylights | Paddington, NSW

Tucked down a quiet laneway in the heart of Paddington, Contemporary Cottage is a recently renovated, dual-level workers cottage that pairs architectural sharpness with warmth and editorial appeal. With features already captured by Real Living, Gritty Pretty, and L’Occitane, this home is a proven location for creative teams seeking natural light, clean lines, and clever material contrast.

Designed across two levels, the home offers a seamless layout for shoots. The ground floor opens into a sunlit, open-plan kitchen, living, and dining zone that flows out to a generous courtyard—perfect for lifestyle, interiors, and fashion content that needs visual continuity between indoor and outdoor moments.

Upstairs, the second floor includes two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a study—all softly illuminated by internal skylights and diffused sunlight from the architectural perforated steel staircase and floor. This design detail not only adds visual texture but creates ambient light shifts throughout the day, ideal for capturing editorial stills or soft motion content.

The palette is understated and contemporary, with thoughtful styling that doesn’t overpower, offering flexibility for both styled and pared-back productions. Whether you’re shooting homewares, fashion, beauty, or storytelling content, each room provides usable angles, vertical volume, and clean surfaces that work effortlessly with natural light.

Positioned in one of Sydney’s most iconic suburbs and walkable to the area’s shops, terraces, and cafes, Contemporary Cottage offers both charm and function in a location that feels equal parts urban and peaceful.
